It’s now officially starting to feel very very Christmassy. I know it’s advent, and as soon as the smoke clears on firework night, the christmas decorations go up in the shops and everywhere you go has started playing Christmas songs, but somehow I need to warm up to Christmas. Now, however, I think I’m starting to feel like it really is Christmas.
The other day, myself and the boys (I live with two lovely and gorgeous boys) went out to pick out our Christmas tree, and of course they did the manly job of carrying the tree to the car etc – we were slightly concerned the whole journey home that it might fall off my tiny car, but we managed to get it home safely….ish!

That evening, once we were all in for the night, we heated up the mulled wine, tucked into our first mince pies of the year and decorated our gorgeous tree – That, I think, was the start of Christmas for me!

I also started my christmas shopping, which, any time before the 10th December is nothing short of a miracle for me! I love giving presents at christmas – and would like to think I do pretty well every year, buying good and personal presents. I tend to avoid the high street and stick to smaller boutique shops and even online vendors like www.notonthehighstreet.com and some of the adorable shops on www.etsy.co.uk – these shops always mean I end up with individual and personal presents for everyone! I’ll keep you posted as to how I get on this year…..I’m still only just getting started!
The last thing I need for it to feel truly like Christmas is singing some festive music. Last Sunday was my opportunity – I was singing in “Giggin 4 Good”, a festive night of christmas songs, sung by West End performers all in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital. It was a really great night with a lovely mix of traditional Christmas songs (“Oh, Holy Night”) and the slightly less conventional (“My Simple Christmas Wish” – very funny and quite rude, but have a listen, it certainly made me giggle!)
Now, my tree is up, the christmas music has been flowing (Michael Buble will be pretty much on repeat from now until the 26th December!), the weather is chilly, and all I want to do is curl up with a mince pie, a glass of mulled wine and watch all the Christmas movies back to back until the big day arrives!
