Why am I starting a blog?
Simply, I want a place to write.
I want a place to challenge myself to think about things more, to question things and to write truthfully about whatever crosses my mind.
As a performer, it often feels like my whole life is dedicated to this career, and I love that, don’t get me wrong, but I think that anyone else whose hobby turns into their career will agree, it is hard to find the off button at the end of the day and think about other things.
The thing I used to do to turn off from a long day at school etc has now become the thing I should be turning off from, and I don’t always find it that easy!
I wanted a little corner of the internet where I can talk about whatever I am thinking about, performing related or not, and turn my brain off from networking, scheduling, planning, editing footage or tracks of me singing and all the other odd jobs I find myself doing until the early hours every night etc etc etc.
This is the corner of the internet where I can be me, whatever thoughts I am having, whatever ponderings that cross my mind and normally get pushed away, this is where I want to explore all of them.
I love my job to bits, but since my hobby became my job, I need a new hobby – and I’m going to try this!

December 28, 2014 at 12:14 amI understand what you mean about your hobby becoming your career and cannot switch off. I'm currently in my second year on a Fine Art degree and I've kind of lost touch with the reason I fell in love with art and why it was a hobby in the first place, as much as I still love doing art.
Great opening post. 🙂

December 28, 2014 at 12:41 amYour first post is really quite inspiring. I can definitely agree with your intake on your passion acting as a career. Feeling like it's something you can't get away from, it's no longer a hobby it's work.
Lately I haven't been to inspired to do anything aspiring myself, school has taken over my mind right now and I can't seem to get focused on anything else. The things I used to love, I have forgotten about.
I apologise for this little rant, just a way of trying to level with you I guess? Hopefully you can understand where I'm coming from:) keep up the good writing!

December 28, 2014 at 1:08 pmHey! I just recently started my own blog too (well yesterday actually) and so far it looks nice and all, but nobody has left me any feed backs or comments:/ Tho hopefully the time will come. My advice for you and your first post is to just do a little introduction to start you off, you know get your viewers to learn a little about yourself, the reason you are writting. Write about your hobbies and main interests, something that people can relate too:)
Well I hope this helps, good luck with your blog x

Yeah, it is difficult – I think it's all about finding a balance…which I'm still trying to find!
I love doing it, but the life that goes with it and the fact that doing what you love for a living means you need to find something else to love is tricky.
I hope you find your balance too.

July 9, 2015 at 2:36 pmI totally understand. It's really hard and when you are in that mindset where you can't find passion or focus it seems to spiral.
I'm glad my post helped a little. Hope you are feeling a bit better about it all now.

July 9, 2015 at 2:39 pmHi D Kitten,
Thanks for the advice – I think my writing style has grown over the past few months and I have developed a much more personal way of writing, so thank you for your advice.
I'm sure your blog has started to grow itself now too – I guess it all takes time. I find social networking links to your blog helps….?
Thanks again,
