As you read this, I will be on my way to the airport, with a bag that is frankly, bursting at the seams!
I cannot believe this has come round so fast – It feels like only last week when it was all being discussed as an idea, let alone a concrete offer, and now I’m on my way.
As I explained in this post, I am off up into the French Alps for 5 months – and I couldn’t be more excited! So, today I am flying to Geneva, then driving for about 2 hours up into the mountains, just in time for the biggest snowfall so far this season which is expected over the next 2 days – they are thinking it will be a minimum of a metre of snow that will fall – talk about chucking me in at the deep end!
I have packed so so much and yet it still feels like too little – 5 months is a long long time – ah well, if H&M or Topshop get a couple of online orders to send into the mountains over the next few month I’m sure that wouldn’t be too much of a nightmare…!
As I am writing this I have a whole blooming’ butterfly colony taking up residence in my stomach, I am sitting cross-legged between by suitcase and my hand luggage bag, desperately trying to move heavy things into my little wheely case so I can fit more wooly jumpers into my main bag – My outfit for travelling is all set out – my new Salomon ski jacket (which is just too big to pack so I have to wear it), a pair of jeans, a GORGEOUS jumper that I bought yesterday from White Stuff and my beautiful purple snow boots from Sorel – I’m all set!

I had to stop writing earlier because my gorgeous little sister, who had told me she had too much work to do to be able to come back from uni to say goodbye turned up to surprise me and quite literally jumped on me as I was writing.
It’s been a really lovely evening – we had prosecco and a serious takeaway curry (with all the trimmings!) and watched a bit of “I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!” which I hadn’t been watching up to now this series but it looks like it might be a good one – I guess I’ll have to see how I can get UK TV in France….
Right……time for an early-ish night before heading off to the airport tomorrow morning – Eeeek!
I shall be tweeting as the day goes on today, so check it out and give me a follow if you want to hear more about this crazy next step! (I’m sure Instagram will have a pretty steady flow of “Oh My God, Snow!” pictures too!)
