Our table for the night! |
I’ve been quite lucky over the past few weeks regarding being invited to restaurants and cafes – and I am so not complaining! My tummy is full and my instagram is looking pretty damn tasty too!
Last weekend, I was invited along to Tom’s Kitchen in St Katherine’s Dock, by the Tower of London for dinner.
I brought along my gorgeous cousin, Chloe, who is also a fantastic brainstormer so we spent the entire night working out new ideas for the next step of my blog – watch this space!
On arrival we were presented with a “Raspberry Fizz” cocktail, which was really yummy – prosecco with a kind of raspberry puree coulis at the bottom – YUM!
We then started to look over the menu and were totally overwhelmed with the choice available – Everything sounded so good!!
I’m terrible at decisions on a normal day but being presented with this menu where I literally wanted EVERYTHING, I really really struggled.
Finally, I chose the Crab Cake to start, Chloe chose the Roast Pigeon – both of which were amazing. Obviously, we tried each others and they were really scrummy – the pigeon was so beautifully cooked and accompanied with the perfect flavours in the salad, and the crab cake was absolutely gorgeous – I could have had 5, but then I wouldn’t have had room for what was to come….
For our main course, we had debated for so long, but finally decided to go all out and ordered the cote de bouef, which serves 2, with some truffle chips and savoy cabbage….and of course, we had to order a bottle of wine to go with it!
It was nothing short of stunning. Honestly. Amazing. The meat was perfectly cooked medium, the chips were incredible (and the truffle really makes a difference!) and the cabbage was yummy as well as being something green to offset the obvious gluttony that was occurring!
We sat and had a proper gossip, overlooking the docks (incredible views!) and enjoying the incredible food in front of us.
We are two girls who love food. And I’m a serious chocoholic. For me to not order dessert is nothing short of insanity, however we were so full and happy after our meal we decided against pudding!
Luckily for us, our waiter was a complete charmer and brought us an After Eight Martini each to finish off our meal – which was creamy and minty and all the yum in a glass – plus it looked so pretty it was so so very instagrammable!
Just want to say a HUGE thank you to Tom’s Kitchen for having us, we felt like princesses the whole evening, the staff were so friendly and helpful, the menu makes your life difficult because you kinda want to order everything, the cocktails are a real treat and the whole atmosphere is so friendly, positive and cosy at the same time!
I’ll be back!
Tom’s Kitchen has locations across London – for menus and locations see their website, twitter or instagram.
*Our meal was gifted to us, however, as always, my views are completely my own.
