The Secret Is Finally Out! 10 Days To Go!

I would like to think I’m very good at keeping secrets. In fact, if the secrets are someone else’s, I can guarantee that the words will never ever pass my lips.
If the secret is my own, I’m still pretty good, I mean, it’s probably a secret for a reason.
If the secret is my own and I have no real reason for it to be a secret except that I’m waiting from the “ok” from various people before I can tell, I have found that I really really struggle!

I’ve been sitting on this one for a few months now and then after it all got signed and made official about a month ago, I wrote this post explaining that there was a big secret exciting thing going to happen and that I was starting a YouTube channel for it. I didn’t need to post that. I could have done it all in one post today. But I just couldn’t wait to say something. I was too excited!

So, the time has come. I’m now allowed to tell you exactly what this big secret exciting thing is that I have been mentioning for the past little while. I’m nervous and excited and pretty much everything else in between about telling you guys and I really hope you are as excited about this opportunity as I am.
Ok.
Here goes.

In 10 days, I’m going to France.
For 5 months.

I’ve been offered the opportunity to spend the winter season in Meribel in The Three Valleys in the French Alps, and my Blog and Youtube channel are coming with me!

I’m going to be spending 5 whole months skiing, exploring, adventuring, challenging myself and trying new things. I’m going to make snow angels and rude snowmen, I’m going to ski A LOT, I’m going to explore new places, win at snowball fights, improve my french, eat cheese, chocolate and baguettes until I can’t move, and I’m going to make the most of the fact that we only live once and when you get offered the chance to spend 5 months in the alps YOU DEFINITELY DO IT!

I hate the phrase “YOLO”, but if there is ever a time I would use it, it would be now.
You Only Live Once; so I’m going up a mountain! Ha!

I don’t want this opportunity to change my blog. I want it to add to it. To make it more fun. To add a new element to it.
My blog isn’t going to be become a ski blog, though I think there is a series chance my instagram grid may be about to be come very white! I want to keep my blog identity and keep writing about the things I write about – just with the added extra that I’m completely surrounded by snow!

I’ve skied since I was young and I absolutely love it – I’m going to be filming my ski adventures on a GoPro and putting the clips into my vlogs (hence the YouTube Channel!)
I want to share this whole crazy adventure with you guys via this blog and YouTube and I hope you are as excited as I am to see what is to come!

I leave on the 20th, which is a week on Friday so I’ve got 10 days to pack everything I need, including 2 ski suits, snow boots and all my ski gear, plus blogging essentials, 5 months of clothes, etc etc into a 20kg bag…….wish me luck!!!

I’m off shopping now for warm jumpers and fluffy socks! 🙂

The show was only a short run earlier this year – off west end shows tend to only run for 2 months ish each to get exposure for transfers.
