Hello all you wonderful people – and MERRY CHRISTMAS!
I can’t believe it has come around so quickly – December seems to have flown by in a flurry of snow flakes, christmas wrapping, canapés and the occasional glass of wine, leaving me stumbling to catch up in time for Christmas – but here we are!
Apologies for being a bit quiet on here this week – it’s the longest I haven’t posted in months! I’ve had a stomach bug. Not just a normal stomach bug but literally the type that knock you for six and it is all you can do to drag yourself from your bed to the sofa and even changing the channels from one christmas movie to another is a challenge.
I forgot how much these things can really get you. Maybe I’m getting old. Anyway, I’ve literally spent 5 days eating pretty much nothing, lying on the sofa and watching christmas tv.
I have to say, if the devil bug is going to take you down, the week before christmas is probably the best time. I mean, I have watched all the christmas movies that get me festive (I mean, I kinda feel a bit like the sugar plum fairy may or may not be sat on my shoulder as I write this, I’m feeling that festive!), I’ve lost at least a few pounds from a combination of being sick and not eating, and now that I can eat again (thank god!) I feel I can totally justify that 3rd mince pie, or eating an extra 5 sausage rolls for a second lunch….I mean, my body needs it, right?!
Anyway, Last night I was at 3 different drinks parties, eating my body weight in canapés and talking to people who I may never have spoken to sober, then back home to bed by midnight….ish.
By the time this post goes out I will probably have been up a couple of hours. I’m that annoying person who wakes up at 5am on christmas day and spends hours trying to get everyone else up so we can see if Father Christmas has been and have our super traditional christmas breakfast – equipt with bucks fizz a plenty!
I hope you all have a fantastic Christmas – I’m going to relax a bit over the festive period so won’t post a huge amount I don’t think, but will hopefully get a couple of posts out between Christmas and New Year and then 2016 I have so many plans it blows my little mind!
So, drink a lot, eat a lot, spend time with those you love – MERRY CHRISTMAS!
