November Favourites

November has gone, December is here and frankly I couldn’t be more excited!

For me, November felt like a bit of an “in-between” month. I knew I was going away. I knew it was all happening. I was just waiting until the date came that I could hop on the plane and fly out here.

I spent a lot of the early part of November preparing for this mad adventure – working out what to pack, what I need and what I don’t, shopping for the necessary things (and the not so necessary things!) for 5 months in the mountains and generally sorting my life out a bit before leaving.

So it makes sense that my November favourites are largely based on sorting things out and the things I have already found to be completely invaluable since I arrived in this gorgeous snow covered world.

Here we go, November favourites:

1. Sorel Snow Boots
I was very very lucky to be invited along to the Sorel VIP suite before I left and got my hands on some FANTASTIC snow boots and so far I am absolutely LOVING them! My toes have never been so warm – I can quite literally stand in a huge pile of snow and not be able to feel it in my toes at all.
I have so far worn these every day since I arrived, with my others coming out in the post this week. The thing with being out here is you really can’t wear any other kind of shoe. There is no point at all in owning any kind of outdoor shoes (or indoor shoes, really!) other than snow boots out here….beacuse you are always going to be popping your snow boots back on again to go anywhere.
I have a feeling these boots are going to be very very well loved by the end of these few months!

2. Fairy Lights (above)
I’ve mentioned this before but I love fairy lights. They just make any space seem more cosy! They were one of the first things I unpacked when I got out here and being able to flick them on at the end of a long evening and curl up with a bit of Grey’s Anatomy with them lit just makes it feel so homely!

3. Oversized Scarves
November has been the month that I started lusting over the new sensation that is over-sized scarves. I have managed to curb my spending a little and so far actually only own this one (which I’ve worn every day since I arrived!) but my shopping baskets in pretty much every online shop are bursting at the seams with these babies! I’ll definitely be doing some serious online scarf ordering very very soon!

4. Salomon Ski Jacket
Before I left I bought quite a lot of kit from Salomon – I’ll do a full post on this soon – but one thing that has just been so so well used since I arrived has been my gorgeous white ski jacket.
It is too cold to wear a normal coat. It is too cold to wear anything that isn’t specifically designed to keep you warm in actual snow. This jacket is filled with feathers – it’s like wearing a duvet! And, its so so pretty! LOVE IT!

5. Snow
Well, I couldn’t have a November favourites post and not mention it – I am completely surrounded by the stuff. And it is beautiful. It is cold, but it is so so beautiful!
This time last year, they hadn’t seen a flake of it, but this year we are already up to our knees in it. The ski lifts open on Friday and I cannot wait to get my boots on, click into my skis and whiz my way around the mountains – TOO EXCITING!

Now I think I need some of those boots, just for walking around! It gets so cold here I can't feel my toesies! Fairy Lights are definitely a must-have decoration for a bedroom, especially in Autumn-Winter time. I love these scarfs, the ones in Zara are so soft and huge, they're basically blankets – love them!
