So as most of you may know, or have read on my “About Me” page, as well as a blogger, I am a singer.
It’s something I’ve done since I was really young and something I really really love, and it has brought me some amazing opportunities over the past few years since I graduated. In 2014 I sang at the Royal Albert Hall and in 2015 I sang at the London Palladium (In a totally amazing dress – see more here!).
Well, last week I was in discussions about another exciting concert and, as you may have seen on my twitter, I have been confirmed online as the second female soloist for the “Movies to Musicals” concert in Glasgow on February 8th.
The concert features the 43 piece Glasgow Philharmonia Orchestra (have a look at their website here) who are FANTASTIC playing music from some incredible musicals including Les Miserables, Cats, West Side Story, Wicked and so many more! The lead singers are Jai McDowell (Winner of Britain’s Got Talent 2011), Sabrina Carter (West End Leading Lady), Josh Taylor (Singer-songwriter sensation) and Karl Loxley (Final 8 on The Voice 2015)….oh, and me!
I have already been talking to Rosie from Rosie Red Corsetry about using her incredible dress again and she has agreed, so now it’s just down to me to learn the songs, practise practise practise and then head up to Scotland on Friday and sing with this incredible orchestra!
I cannot wait! I’m singing some truly iconic female musical theatre songs which definitely puts the pressure on but I’m so excited!
So, any of your wonderful people based in Scotland, I’d love to have you in the audience! And, if you do come along, please let me know you are there – I’d love to say hi in person after the concert and see what you thought!
For those of you who can’t make it, I’ll try to get some blogging done (if I remember – I’m proving to be quite forgetful with the vlogging!) and there will be a video and photos of the concert to see afterwards so you won’t totally miss out if it’s something you’re interested in!
It promises to be a fantastic night, all the other performers are completely fantastic and I can’t quite believe I’m going to be up there with them, singing some amazing music with a 43 piece orchestra!

February 8, 2016 at 3:41 pmThis sounds really amazing. I used to do musical theatre too, so I sort of get where your excitement is coming from!
Have a truly brilliant time.
