So these “Ten Things Thursday” posts have kinda slipped from my routine over the past couple of months – I think doing them every week was me biting off a little more than I can chew and I was struggling to feel inspired by them….so, I’ve taken off the “Thursday” part and I’m going to do them whenever I feel that I’ve got things I want to share with you guys that have made me smile – simply, whenever I want to do a “Ten Things” post, I will.
So, it’s been a fairly busy few weeks but there have been so many things that have happened than have made me smile – so I wanted to get “Ten Things” back up and running again! Here goes – Ten Things that have made me happy recently:
1. Broadchurch is back
I’ve mentioned Broadchurch on this blog so many times before – I just love it! And it’s back – and it’s as good as ever!!! Can’t wait to see what this series has in store for us!
2. Post-Assessment girls’ night
This was a while back now but I never mentioned it on here. After we did our presentation assessments back in January, Sara, Lucie and I went out for a celebratory dinner – and ordered so much that we were advised to move tables so we would have enough room! Never have I felt such pride! 🙂
3. Pancake Brunches
We recently discovered a brilliant crepe place in the middle of Cambridge, perfect for a late Sunday brunch! Sweet or Savoury crepes and a massive mug of tea – I’m a happy girl!
4. Hair Cut
I also recently popped into Rush again, after visiting them for their birthday celebrations (see post here) I wanted to pop in and get my hair seen to. I had the fantastic Cole, and he made me feel all sassy again – and re-ginged me too! Yay!
5. Ultimate Hell Week
I started watching this because a friend from an old drama group I was in when I was about 16 is in it, and now I’m completely hooked – If you haven’t seen it, all I can say is, go on iPlayer and WATCH IT! Amazing – and the women are SMASHING IT!
6. Hacksaw Ridge
We watched this a few weeks back and it really is as good as the critics say – it’s a bit brutal at times, but it tells such an amazing story in such a brilliant way – definitely worth a watch!
7. Diary writing
I’ve recently got back into the habit of writing my diary – I tend to fall out of the habit when I get really busy and then it takes some real effort to get back into it, but I love it when I do. It’s great to read back on, with everything that I’m getting up to at the moment too!
8. Stir Coffee Shop
I also discovered a fab little coffee shop just up the road from my flat recently, which is just perfect for rocking up with my laptop and shutting myself away from the world for a bit. I’m planning a lot of blogging time there very soon – my blog has had to take a bit of a back seat in the past few weeks cos I’ve been so busy so I’m giving myself a virtual kick up the arse about it at the mo!
9. Jersey Boys
We headed into London this week to see Jersey Boys before it closes at the end of this month. I know quite a few of the boys in the cast so it was extra special to see them all up there. It was a really lovely evening actually – heading into london at the end of the working day, grabbing a quite bite, seeing the show (which was FANTASTIC!), seeing some of the boys afterwards and then heading back home – really special evening!
10. Cookies
Whenever I get really busy, I forget how much I love baking. And how therapeutic I find it. The week before last I made a big batch of squishy-in-the-middle chocolate chip cookies – it was so lovely to be baking again and was also a proper treat to eat them (not all by myself I hasten to add!) Yum! (Recipe will be up on this blog very soon!)
Hopefully “Ten Things” will be back as a bit more of a regular posting on here now. I’ve also got a real selection of new posts planned at the moment – just need to find the time between hospital shifts to get them written! 🙂
