As I’ve mentioned in a few posts over the last couple of weeks, we recently went on a trip to Lincoln. I’d never been before and so when we had a bit of spare time, alongside the fabulous airshow and our very delicious dinners, we made sure to have a bit of a wander and an explore of this beautiful city.
We were staying within walking distance of the centre, so on both days we were in Lincoln we wandered down the “Steep Hill” and into town for a bit of shopping – Little did we know when we saw this brilliant street decoration of the Red Arrows that we would be seeing them later that day!
Lincoln really is a beautiful city, and we saw it in the most gorgeous weather too – there’s nothing quite like seeing the stunning Lincoln Cathedral in all its glory against a bright blue sky! We had a wander into the Cathedral too (well, given how close our hotel was to it, we definitely needed to see it!) and what an amazing building it was! The stunningly high ceilings and incredible long aisle – just beautiful!
We also had dinner out at a lovely local Italian restaurant, Gino’s, on our second night, indulging in Spicy Pizza and Chocolate Covered Pancakes; what a treat! I certainly the out the rulebook when it came to my strict healthy eating plan during this trip – and had absolutely no regrets about it!
For months, I had been hearing about Daisy Made Ice Cream, a local and very popular independent Ice Cream Maker and Dairy Farm up in Lincoln, and so after our cooked breakfast at the hotel on our last morning, we drove there and treated ourselves to cones of gorgeous homemade ice cream before the drive home – yum! It certainly was the perfect way to end our special weekend away!
