Midwife Mondays 115: Final shift before Christmas, and the Midwifery Ball!

I’m getting there with the old post-christmas catch up now – Week 115 was a quieter one for me, which I really needed. I was definitely starting to feel the need to turn my brain off a little in the run up to Christmas.

I was only in the hospital for a group reflection session which was really good. We try to get together every 3-4 months with the lecturers and all the girls from my uni based at my hospital and just chat through everything , hear what everyone has been up to and resolve any issues or concerns anyone may have. It was a really good session and good to touch base with everyone. With these long placements you can often go quite a while without seeing the uni staff or many of the other students so it’s nice to get to catch up.

I had a few days off that week too; perfect for all the odd jobs that get missed when you’re in the hospital. Laundry, food shopping, cooking, cleaning etc – all vital and definitely needed doing that week so it felt good to get on top of it all!

At the end of the week we had the Midwifery Ball. I hadn’t been in previous years, but as it’s our final year, me and my girls decided to go. It was really good fun and so lovely to see everyone all dolled up instead of hair scraped back and wearing scrubs! Such a nice way to celebrate the run up to Christmas with everyone too!

The next night was the Blog awards, which I’m going to write another post about soon – another fab night, as it always is!

Only a short one for this post but, as I said, it was a quieter week (thank goodness!)
