Midwife Mondays 140: Self-Led Study Time

So this week has been quite a chilled one to be honest.

We have a safeguarding module to do, and so I spent a couple of days reading up on the carious different topics and making some notes and then got down to writing the first of four sections out properly.

It’s one of those projects that I think is just going to require a bit of self-motivation to do, but I’ll get there!

I’ve also viewed this week as a bit of an opportunity to wind myself down for a bit. I think the past couple of months have been quite full on, with dissertation stuff, placement and everything, so I took the opportunity to jump on some fab discounts at my gym and had a massage and a facial – such a treat! I always underestimate how good a bit of pampering can make you feel; something I need to try to remember and book in more regularly as a bit of self-care.

We headed into London over the weekend to catch up with M’s brother and parents over a BBQ and a couple of glasses of Pimm’s which was lovely. We are actually seeing M’s parents again this coming weekend down in Cornwall too so that’ll be really nice – looking forward to seeing their beautiful puppy on the beach too!!

Not too much more to report really; this coming week is another chilled one really – bit of work on my safeguarding stuff and other uni work and then packing for Cornwall before we drive down to Bristol on Wednesday evening (splitting the journey to make it more bearable!) I’m booked in for a mani-pedi tomorrow as a little pre-mini-holiday pamper and then we are all set!
