Midwife Mondays 141: Safeguarding work, baby cuddles and an exciting long weekend!

So this past week has been a very exciting one – I’ll tell you much more in another post later this week as I want to do it justice, so definitely make sure to check back on that one! (There’s a bit of a preview at the bottom of this post!)

The first part of the week was quite normal – I’m still on study time for my safeguarding module so I spent the beginning of the week cracking on with that. I managed to tick off the first of the four sections completely and make a good start on the second.

I also got a special treat this week – I got to have cuddles with baby Archie, one of my baby “catches” from my last time on the birth centre. It was so special to see him, and his wonderful mummy, Hollie (who is also a blogger and has written her stunning birth story over on her blog).

Following on from my pamper time last week, I had a manicure booked early this week too, so got my nails done as a little treat (benefits of being off on study time, I can actually look like a girl!) – which it turns out was very very fortunate given the exciting thing that happened at the weekend!

We then drove to Bristol on Wednesday evening and then on to Cornwall on Thursday – we were down for the long weekend with my parents and M’s parents, so were looking forward to spending a few days on long countryside walks, paddling in the sea and sitting drinking red wine in the hot tub – little did I know that M had a whole other surprise planned!!!
