New routines and shaking things up!

So you might have noticed it’s been a little quieter around here over the past couple of months – don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere! I’ve just been adapting to my new schedule, getting settled into my new job, finding places to write in our new home and generally trying to get into some kind of routine where I actually get to see M between my shifts and his new job’s slightly longer hours.

I think we all give ourselves a hard time to have it together all the time and to constantly be planning more things and actually sometimes it’s really important to take the time to get yourself in check before you make other plans.

When we first moved, I was planning on having loads of people over for dinner, doing loads of baking, and generally enjoying being nearer to a lot of our friends than we were when we were living in Hertfordshire; but actually over the last couple of months since we moved, it’s just not happened. And, surprisingly enough, I’m ok with it.

I’m only just getting to the point where I feel like I can come up for air after starting my new job, and M has had a new job too, so its just been the time we have needed.

Now I’m ready to get on with all the things I had planned in our fab little house (for the short time that we have it) and that’s gonna start with sharing some festive baking (I’m thinking mince pies, chocolate truffles and much more!) – I’ve got a half day on Friday so I’m going to come home, chuck on my joggers and get my bake on ahead of the weekend (and I’m sure I’ll share some on here too!)

I want to get working on fresh new content for my blog; although everyone seems to enjoy my midwifery content, and I will still keep them coming, I want to share more stuff outside of work too; with wedding planning, baking, shopping and more (plus a couple of potentially really exciting things in the pipeline too!)

So, watch this space for a refreshed and exciting A Girl On A Journey, same site, same look, but loads more posts and variety! Hope you enjoy and thanks for staying with me! 🙂
