Hello you gorgeous lot!
So, firstly, I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to everyone for being so supportive and excited about me next adventure after my post yesterday (click here if you missed it!) – I was so excited but also nervous to tell everyone and to put it out there (plus, it made it seem so so real!) and every single response about it has been so positive and exciting – so I’m absolutely buzzing about that!
Obviously, because I’m going away for an extended period of time, I’m currently trying to cram as much as I possibly can into the time before I leave, and one thing I knew I wanted to do was go back up to Glasgow and visit up there. Having done my degree up there, I have a little family based in Glasgow now and I never get to see them being so blooming busy down here!
So, I decided to book a day off (in my head) and got a flight up this week.
I was only up there for less than 36 hours but it was so special to get up there and see these people who have definitely seen me at both my worst and my best.
They have been with me through silly romantic mistakes, nights where there was just far too much wine and days where I was convinced the world was ending, and they have been there through successes and achievements, through performances and exciting opportunities and literally everything in between.
We had dinner in an amazing vietnamese place, drank prosecco in front of a truly bizarre movie, had the most filthy fry up ever (with potato scones and black pudding – if you’ve not had either, just go to Scotland, it will make your life infinitely better!), chatted and caught up and watched old videos of the days we were all up in Scotland together – it was really special!
We are all doing so many different things – our year group of 14 are based all over the world now and all doing so many different things. Every time any of us meet up there is something new to update each other on, and these are the type friends that are just there. It doesn’t matter how long it has been, it’s still exactly the same.
I know we all get busy, but getting up there and visiting, even for less than 36 hours has reminded me how good it is to see any of them, and how much I truly love them all to pieces.
Life takes over sometimes and we all get busy but it’s so important. This trip has just reinforced that to me. Sometimes you need to take that day off and see the people you care about. Make the effort. These are people who are going to be there for you for the rest of your life so go out of your way for them (If you are reading this, you have no choice in this matter – you’re stuck with me, and I’m not sorry!)
Making time for the special people is SO important. It’s good for you, it’s good for them so make the effort and make time for the people you love!

November 11, 2015 at 9:17 pmI totally agree! It's so easy to let life take over and forget to really appreciate the little things and the people that were once/will always be such a big part of our lives! Glad you had a nice time, and sounds like a great little send-off for your big adventure!! Good luck with everything!!
