Midwife Mondays 16: Back to Work!

Hello you wonderful lot.

I hope the first week of 2017 has treated you well (can you believe we are a week in already?!?)

This week has been quite a quiet one when it comes to the world of midwifery so I think it’ll be a pretty short post today. This whole week has been self-led work – We are working towards a group assessed presentation and so my group have been getting together in the library and working on the finishing touches on our presentation, both as a group and also individually.

Our presentation is on Thursday, and counts as 70% of our first module (no pressure eh?!), so we have until then as self-led time to work on it and make sure it is completely perfect and that all the elements of it work well together etc.

I’m actually really looking forward to seeing everyone’s presentations – we’ve all been working on these since about half way through last term and everyone has been working really hard! We have the whole day on Thursday for the presentations, watching each other’s and support the other groups and then, after that, next week we are back to some semblance of a normal timetable as we start our next module. 🙂

I’m looking forward to getting back into a bit of a routine uni-wise too and seeing people I haven’t seen properly since before we went out on placement at the end of October! We’ve all been so busy having so many different experiences, it’ll be good to hear everyone’s stories and find out about everyone’s christmas breaks too!

Anyway, thats pretty much all I have to say about this week – it’s been a quiet one because it’s all been self-led study – as you read this, I’ll be on my way in to spend a day with my fantastic group, pulling everything together and going over and over our presentation so we know it inside out and back to front ahead of Thursday! Eek!

If you guys have any questions about anything assessment wise, do leave me a comment below and I’ll try to answer as soon as poss! 🙂
