Introducing: Midwife Mondays

So, as this post goes live, I will be heading to my first day on my BSc degree in Midwifery! Bloody hell, even writing that sentence has made me ridiculously over-excited!

This has been a long time coming after making the decision to move on from the world of theatre and pursue another dream and I just can’t wait to start!

I want to be able to document my journey to becoming a midwife on this blog, but I’m also really aware that a lot of my regular readers (hello you absolute beauties!) probably didn’t start reading my blog for information about my journey to become a midwife – and I don’t want this new adventure to take over all of my content. I also want to have a bit more regular content to fit in with my more regular schedule once I start my course.

So, I am really excited to introduce “Midwife Mondays” – I will be posting about my journey towards becoming a fully qualified midwife on this blog every Monday – whether it is about what I have been up to on the course, something that my studies have made me think about, or whatever else comes to mind related to this journey I will be on for the next three years.

This means that the rest of my content won’t me midwifery based, but if you want to read about this course, and me delivering babies and learning the highs and lows of this incredible career, then Mondays are going to be when to find it all – it will all be under the “Becoming A Midwife” tab on my menu bar! And, if you don’t want to hear about this new adventure, and just want my normal, cake, wine, gossip, recipes, thoughts & ponderings, and exploring new places chat, then come back any other day of the week to see that content, which I will still be posting, possibly more regularly now that I will be on a stricter schedule in my life!

Everything I write about my midwifery journey will respect patient confidentiality and will follow the NMC guidelines for social media and publishing (which can be read further here). No names, of patients or staff, will be revealed, and no locations or hospitals will be mentioned. I’m sure you all understand this but I wanted to put the disclaimer blurb out there now. (it will appear at the bottom of every Midwife Monday post too)

I moved into my gorgeous new studio flat yesterday and have already unpacked and started making it a bit more me. I absolutely love it. I’ll be doing a flat tour on my youtube channel and on this blog when I can, hopefully by the end of the week. It’s all happening and I am so excited!

Woohoo! Congratulations! I’m sure you’ll do great and work very very hard. I’m currently pursuing an online degree to earn my Master in Information, but I got my undergrad in voice/music education. Music will always be a part of us and it will always be there when you need it <3
